Obama "Grass Roots" Phone Call

Sun Jul 13, 2008 at 03:02:00 PM PDT

Over the past 40 years I've donated to many progressive candidates in both local and national elections. But I've become wary over the years because of two practices of political campaigns that I despise. The first is the use of paid fund raising firms that 'take a cut' of the money I've donated to the candidate of my choice. The second is when the campaign sells my name and phone number to other campaigns that start calling me to donate to their campaign too.

The Clinton Stink

I think it's clear from Hillary's basement speech tonight that she is not going to gracefully concede and support the winner of this hard fought primary.

The Caucuses/Popular Vote Red Herring

Fri May 30, 2008 at 09:23:17 AM PDT

I keep reading that the Clinton campaign's bogus count of the 'popular vote' excludes four of the caucus states. Why is it that only four of the caucus states are listed as not having their popular vote tallied?

Frozen Speech at Hillary's Blog

It's the middle of the night, even here in Anchorage.
So, I don't think I'll clog up the diary flow here at Kos, with just another rant about MYDD.

Enough Already!

Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 09:51:38 AM PDT

Like many of you reading this, I've been coming to Daily Kos since its early days to read and discuss important political issues with my fellow progressives. The discussions haven't always been harmonious. Several prominent Kos 'front pagers' burned brightly for a while, then flamed out and abandoned this site.
But, for the most part, Daily Kos remained a community of like-minded progressive thinkers and writers.

Who Will Obama Choose?

Fri Feb 22, 2008 at 10:22:09 AM PDT

A lot has been discussed lately regarding Senator Obama's experience and ability to govern "from day one". The pool of Presidential candidates from both parties has offered the voters mostly U.S. Senators or State's Governors, past or present, for the past 50 years.
Some people believe that the Senate is the natural stepping stone to the Presidency. Others say that since the President is an executive first and not a law maker, per se, that a Governor's experience is more relevant to the job of running the country. And that point of view has been borne out, since JFK was the last sitting Senator to be elected President.
